our special lunch at the roycroft inn

Steeped in the arts & crafts tradition lies the Roycroft Campus, tucked away in the small quaint and pretty town of East Aurora, New York.   Bob and I spent a lovely afternoon there yesterday celebrating our wedding anniversary. While there, we had a lovely lunch in the Larkin Room inside the beautiful Roycroft Inn.  It was amazing to dine being surrounded by so much history and such beautiful turn of the century craftsman style decor.

the Roycroft inn is located on grove st in east aurora, new york

originally built as a print shop in 1897,  the building was later expanded
by elbert hubbard to accommodate the many friends & guests
of the campus, he called the inn a "phalanstery".

the inn has national historic landmark status and
underwent a complete restoration in 1995.

the solid oak doors of the inn open into a stunning craftsman styled lobby filled
with both roycroft and stickley handmade furniture, murals, lamps, memorabilia
and many designs influenced by the inspiring arts & crafts artist william  morris.
